Teams are eligible to win up to $20,000 in prize money as well as honorable mention prizes. The entries will be judged by influential community members, and entries will be anonymous to the judges. The winners will be announced on October 12, 2024 at the halftime of the Montana State Bobcat Football game. All winners will be announced via social media and the Gallatin Valley YMCA Bark & Build website.
The winning categories are as follows:
The “Best in Show” award will be presented as the overall winner of the Bark & Build design/build competition and overall judges’ favorite. This entry will epitomize the best overall design and construction detailing in the pack.
The “Hot Dog” award will be presented as the overall flashy, risk-taking winner of the Bark & Build design/build competition.
The “Big Dog” award will be presented to the team that presents the best design for large dogs. Designs should feature concepts with large dogs in mind.
The “Teacup Pup” award will be presented to the team that presents the best design for small dogs. Designs should feature big-dog creativity in a pint-sized package.
The “Best Bobcat Build” or “Best MSU School Spirit” award will be presented to the team that presents the home that best represents the spirit of Montana State University.
The “People’s Choice” award will be presented to the team that wins the online viral voting that will take place from October 1st - October 12th on the Gallatin Valley YMCA website.
First place winners of categories 1-4 will receive a monetary award of $5,000. “Best Bobcat Build” will receive 2 season tickets to the 2025 Bobcat Football home games. The “People’s Choice” winner will receive a year of free dog chow and a year's membership to the Gallatin Valley YMCA.
